Our company is an emerging player in the oilfield and marine supply industry, specializing in the distribution of high-quality valves, flanges, and fittings. As we scale our operations, we are looking to expand our presence in both local and international markets.
Job Overview:
As the Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of our startup company. Your focus will be on developing new business opportunities within the oilfield and marine sectors, expanding our market share, and establishing long-term client relationships. You will be responsible for overseeing the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals, and will play a pivotal role in building a brand presence in both domestic and international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Sales Strategy:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the oilfield and marine industries, both domestically and internationally.
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy, including market research, competitor analysis, and customer segmentation.
Generate leads and convert prospects into customers through a combination of direct outreach, networking, and marketing efforts.
Expand our footprint in international markets by identifying key regions for export growth and establishing relationships with distributors and end clients.
2. Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in the oil & gas and marine industries.
Provide exceptional customer service and offer tailored solutions to meet client needs.
Coordinate with the operations team to ensure customer requirements are met, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service.
3. Sales Targets & Reporting:
Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for both local and international markets.
Track and report on sales performance, pipeline progress, and market trends to senior management.
Develop and present regular sales forecasts, budgets, and market analysis to guide decision-making.
4. Negotiation & Contract Management:
Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions with customers.
Ensure proper documentation of all sales transactions, including contracts, purchase orders, and agreements.
Collaborate with the legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with export regulations and terms.
5. Market & Product Knowledge:
Stay up to date with industry trends, new product developments, and market demands.
Provide feedback to the product development team on customer preferences and market requirements.
Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company and stay connected with market developments.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. (MBA or similar qualifications are a plus)
Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the oilfield, marine, or industrial supply sectors. Prior experience with valves, flanges, and fittings is highly desirable.
Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, managing key accounts, and driving new business growth.
Export & International Sales Experience: Familiarity with export regulations, international markets, and the logistics of selling into global markets is highly preferred.
Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of technical specifications for valves, flanges, and fittings, and the ability to communicate these to clients.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to develop creative solutions.
Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
