Final Thoughts: Places to Visit in Dubai
Doing the biggest and most expensive sites isn’t what makes these trips the best; it’s actually combining all of these different types of things. To get the best out of the Places to visit in Dubai, do the Burj Khalifa at sunset, then take an AED 1 abra across the Creek the next morning. Ski at -4°C in the afternoon, then eat shawarma on the beach, watching the Burj Al Arab glow at night.
FAQs: Places to Visit in Dubai
If you’ve only got a few days, focus on Burj Khalifa (At The Top tickets from AED 149), Dubai Mall, Museum of the Future (AED 149), Dubai Frame (AED 50), Palm Jumeirah & Atlantis, Dubai Marina & JBR Walk, Burj Al Arab (guided tours from AED 399), Dubai Creek & Gold Souk, Madinat Jumeirah, and Ski Dubai at Mall of the Emirates.
The Dubai Fountain show (every 30 min from 6 PM), JBR Beach & The Walk, Kite Beach, Al Seef Heritage District, Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary (flamingos with Burj Khalifa in the background), Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai Marina Walk, Alserkal Avenue art galleries, and Quranic Park are all completely free.
Madinat Jumeirah at sunset is a romantic place to be. You just need to take an abra ride for AED 100 through rivers lit by lanterns while the Burj Al Arab shines behind you, and then eat dinner at Pierchic, which is located on a pier over the Arabian Gulf. Also, the Dubai Opera in Downtown is a beautiful place to see a show, and the ARTE Museum in Dubai Mall is a dreamy, personal place to walk through interactive digital art with a friend.
If you’re traveling with kids, you can’t miss Ski Dubai at Mall of the Emirates, LEGOLAND Dubai (for kids ages 2 to 12), Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark, IMG Worlds of Adventure (with Marvel and Cartoon Network zones), Dubai Butterfly Garden + Miracle Garden, Dubai Frame, Kite Beach, Global Village (seasonal October–April), and Wild Wadi Waterpark.
Ski Dubai (skiing at -4°C inside a mall while it’s 45°C outside), Museum of the Future (voted the most beautiful building on earth), Dubai Frame (a 150-meter picture frame with a glass floor), and the Atlantis Aquaventure’s shark-filled lagoon, where you swim with rays. Plus, there’s nothing in the world quite like Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary, with hundreds of wild flamingos feeding in a wetland with the Burj Khalifa shimmering in the background.
Some of the best free places for families in Dubai are Kite Beach (playground, skatepark, food trucks, Burj Al Arab views), Dubai Fountain show (every 30 min from 6 PM), JBR Beach & The Walk (free beach + bustling promenade), Al Seef Heritage District (recreated 1950s Dubai along the Creek), Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary (free flamingo viewing hides), Quranic Park (free gardens, play areas, cycling tracks), Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, and Dubai Marina Walk.
Absolutely. The Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo (AED 149+), ARTE Museum (AED 119), the Olympic-sized ice rink, the 120+ restaurants, and even just walking through the sheer scale of 1,200+ stores is an experience in itself.
