Job description
- Source steel, stainless steel, aluminum, hardware, finishes, and other materials required for custom decorative metal fabrication projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities to confirm material grades, dimensions, quantities, and project requirements.
-Obtain and compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, availability, and delivery time.
- Negotiate prices and terms, prepare purchase orders, and follow up on deliveries to meet production schedules.
- Coordinate with the design, production, and site teams to resolve material queries and identify suitable alternatives when needed.
- Check delivered materials against purchase orders and specifications and coordinate the resolution of shortages or quality issues.
- Maintain supplier records, procurement reports, and accurate purchasing documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
-Experience in procurement for steel or architectural metal fabrication.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and understand material specifications.
- Knowledge of metal grades, sheet and section sizes, decorative finishes, and fabrication components.
- Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation, cost comparison, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and purchasing or ERP systems.
- Good communication and coordination skills; UAE supplier market experience is preferred.
